- How long does LANAP™ take?

- Initially, the laser treatment is performed and typically takes only a few minutes. Then, treatment is focused on scaling and removing tartar. Finally, the laser seals the pocket, allowing healing to continue. Depending on the severity of the periodontal disease, treatment may be accomplished in one office visit or may require multiple visits. The estimated treatment time is reviewed when we discuss your treatment plan.
- Does LANAP™ hurt?

- Although the procedure itself can be virtually painless, we anesthetize the area for your comfort. In this way, we can precisely direct the laser for treatment. A deep cleaning will be performed, for which anesthesia is required. Post-procedure discomfort is typically minimal and duration is short.
At Dental Implant & Periodontal Solutions we
take every precaution to ensure a safe procedure and positive outcome from all treatments we perform. Your comfort and happiness is our number one priority. - How does LANAP™ work?

- A small amount of light energy from a laser is directed through a tiny fiber, which is gently placed between the tooth and gum. This light energy removes a small amount of diseased tissue and aids in reducing the bacteria associated with periodontal disease. Tartar, calcified bacteria associated with inflamed and bleeding gums, is removed from the root surface of the tooth using an ultrasonic scaler and small instruments. After the area is cleaned, the laser seals the pocket, allowing the treated area to heal naturally.
